The Museum of Romagna Folk Customs and Traditions defines itself as a living entity pursuing research and knowledge on folk culture. Its main interest lies in the various aspects that make up folk traditions (symbolism, social relations, work, and rituals) in southern Romagna.

A museum of exhibits and testimonies, whose task goes beyond displaying objects and images to communicating ideas. A museum of ideas’ display must illustrate a series of real facts, relations, and solved and unsolved scientific problems. In such a layout, objects become tools to prove ideas; they lose some of their individuality and become part of the broader framework of the culture of a people.

The museum took part in the project “Traces of Valmarecchia: experiencing cultures, landscapes, images, and flavours”, selected as part of the third edition of the “I love cultural heritage” competition of ideas (2013-2014).
