Bruno Slawitz (Noceto 1907 – Milan 1968) was a brilliant sportswriter but also a passionate music fan, critic, and consultant for record labels. In 1972 he donated his extensive collection of vintage records to the municipality of Noceto. The music library that bears his name is divided into three main sections: the historical section, comprising 1,268 78rpm records made of shellac and dating to before 1952; the opera section featuring about 400 full operas; and the symphony section, with 450 titles from different authors. The collection includes several one-of-a-kind records and rarities, one-sided singles, and records autographed by some of the era’s most famous singers.
Some of the featured artists are Enrico Caruso, Francesco Tamagno, Gino Bechi, Beniamino Gigli, Aureliano Pertile, Toti Dal Monte, Maria Callas, and Tito Schipa.
The Museum of Vintage Records is placed in the Castle of Music in Noceto (Pr).
