Trading Card Museum – Modena

The Trading Card Museum was established by the Panini Trading Card Company, thanks to the enthusiastic collecting efforts of Giuseppe Panini, who founded the museum along with his brothers Benito, Franco Cosimo, and Umberto. As part of an attempt to document the origins and development of trading cards, he collected hundreds of thousands of small colour prints, which over time formed an extraordinary collection in both quantitative and qualitative terms, which was donated to the Municipality of Modena in 1992.

Since 2006, the Museum’s original displays have aimed to recreate a sort of “trading card wonderland”, featuring not only trading cards from the mid-19th century to the present day, but also matchboxes, letter seals, banknotes, menus, miniature calendars, and much more.
