Via Roncati, 28
41057 Spilamberto MO
The Museum of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, the only museum in the world dedicated to this product, which enjoys Protected Designation of Origin, was inaugurated in 2002 in Spilamberto thanks to the founder of the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar Consortium, Simonini, under the patronage of the President of the Republic and with the support of the Regional and Provincial administrations and the Chamber of Commerce.
The museum aims to promote a product that is intimately tied to the culture of Emilia. Its halls evoke the aroma and taste of this unique product. Visitors will discover the complexities involved in its preparation, perfected with experience and over time, and will be able to learn about processes that had hitherto been jealously guarded family secrets.
A visit to the museum ends in the Consortium’s vinegar cellar, where the Consortium’s master vinegar makers host tastings for visitors.
